Up to date Novell Linux Desktop segfaults with local source
Hello, I created three local directories (/var/cds/cd1/, ..., /var/cds/cd3) and an index with genIS_PLAINcache to have a local source of packages. I needed it for yast cd-creator. When generating the index, I've got the following errors : 'error: no dbpath has been set' 'error: cannot open Packages database in' When adding this source in YaST, it segfaults when I try to install software. I used YOU to keep my NLD up to date. What can I do ? Thanks for your help, Pierre
genIS_PLAINcache is not intended for this usage scenario, and I dont know why you are using it. copying the CDs into a directory is enough to create source, no need to run anything. Anas Pierre Allix wrote:

Well according to this document : http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/en/2004/02/yast_inst... we should use genIS_PLAINcache. I tried (on a SLES 9.0) without generating the IS_PLAINcache.gz file and it doesn't work. Packages are missing... For instance I can't install 'bc' from this new source, and yast cd-creator doesn't find my packages for the 'minimal installation' selection. What is the solution ??
