Choose Installation Kernel on Sles9 SP3 x86_64
Hi! I'm running AutoYast with Sles9 SP3 x86_64 on a IBM x366 (Dual XeonMP with ETM64). I use a custom Install CD made with yast2's CD-Creator. AutoYast uses the default kernel for installation and so forces me into a manual reboot after the installation for the SMP kernel to be activated. (The "forceboot" and "reboot" are both set but don't work...) The x366 has the ServeRaid 8i Raid Controller and IBM has an Driver Update Floppy Image which resides on the CD and works fine (Vendor Driver update). The Installation (update.post) of the driver makes an "uname -r" and gets 2.6.5-7.244-default and installs into the wrong directory and I get depmod errors. I also use the module bonding which can't be found after the installation because the depmod goes for the wrong kernel. After the manual reboot everything works perfect. So I would like to know if it is possible to change the kernel autoyast is using? (I know that the install kernel resides in /boot/loader/linux and there is an initrd in /boot/loader/initrd, but changing them gave me some ..hmm... interesting results :-)) best regards, florian
