[opensuse-autoinstall] get rid of an error message
Hi list, during autoinstall process I've got an error message claiming about a RAID configuration presented by the BIOS that is in fact a software RAID. I configured the default behavior to automatically unlock all error messages and warnings. But this one needs a manually interaction. How can I avoid this? Thanks, Jochen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

is the error message about /dev/mdX not having any corresponding bios drive ?

Hi Rich, no it's about special RAID controllers which somehow behave like Softraids. The message also tells that this controllers where supported with kernel 2.4 but not with 2.6. I'm not interested in this message. I only want to get rid of it cause it does not disappear automatically. Thanks, Jochen

I've seen this before. We didn't think we had any hardware raid setup, but apparently the system reported that we did. We had to go into the hardware RAID configuration tools and remove any configuration that the raid controller thought was there. In our case, we actually had to configure each drive and then delete the configuration to get to this state, but that was unique to the raid controller. After we made this adjustment, we haven't seen this popup window anymore.

Hi Chris, thanks a lot. Beside the possibility to adjust the raid controller it should work the way like with other errors, warnings. The popup should disappear after some time. Uwe what do you think about that? Jochen

We didn't ever see the popup go away, despite the settings we put in the <report> section.

right, the popup comes up even before the autoyast profile is loaded. My hint with the profile was nonsens. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Business: http://www.suse.de/~ug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org
