After quite a bit of testing, I have determined that the autoyast=file:///filename syntax doesn't work with placing the bare control file on a CDROM (if I'm wrong please show me). It works with if the control file is INSIDE of a initial ram disk (or initramfs on SL9.3) or on a floppy. The documentation here: http://yast.suse.com/autoinstall/9.1/html/invoking_autoinst.html Implies very strongly that it should work outside of the initial ram disk/fs. I couldn't get this to work. Also, the documentation is very ambiguous on // versus ///. How about adding the syntax, autoyast=cdrom:/filename To reference a control on the top level of the booted cdrom?
