Have 8.1 Pro, installing on clone - D865G Intel 800FSB HT MB 2.6GHz HT Proc 2-40GB Seagate 40GB HDDs 2-256MB DDR400 Lite-On 52X CD-ROM Intel LAN Intel Graphics SoundMax Audio Have 98 (don't ask why) on partitioned portions of HDDs. Half of each HDD is not partitioned (is where SuSE should go). When attempting to install SuSU 8.1 Pro, boots from CD1 ok, but cannot mount HDDs or CD-ROM. Try CD2, same deal. Cannot install as it errors with "Cannot mount CD-ROM". Thought of copying to HDD and doing install from HDD, doh - cannot recognize HDDs. Have tried diff modes of install, but cannot get it to see drives. Is there something else need to pass to the kernel? I find it hard to believe, though a newer model MB, that 8.1 could not recognize the hardware. Yeah, Mandrake & RH install just fine on the box. Any suggestions?
