yes, you can use an ftp-proxy but you can not specify it in the online-update itself. You have to use a special ftp-proxy such as the SuSE proxy-suite. After installing the rpm-package there is a file called /etc/proxy-suite/ftp-proxy.conf. The first important parameter is: DestinationAddress <patchserver-fqdn> The second parameter is: ServerType <standalone|inetd> Then you can start the ftp-proxy by using "/etc/init.d/ftp-proxy start" or add it to your favorite runlevels. After starting the proxy you can do a simple ftp <yourProxy-fqdn>. The username and password are directly passed to the server specified at "DestinationAddress". But read the documentation carefully (/usr/share/doc/packages/proxy-suite/ftp/ftp-proxy.pdf). The Destination-Address is just a default value if there is no other server specified. If you use the default config-file with only this two modification all internal client can connect to every ftp-server that can be accessed by your proxy.
