[opensuse-autoinstall] How to auto installation on a RAID card?
Dear all, Now I have a RAID card.I would like to install SuSE on this card. I have already got a driver disk for the RAID card. I have read http://forgeftp.novell.com//yast/doc/SLES10/autoinstall/index.html, but I did not get the answer. How can I use autoyast to load the card driver from network? Thank you! I think you'll need to add the driver to a "driver update disk" and place an image of that disk on your install server. There's a tool on Uwe's page http://www.suse.com/~ug/ that should help you with that. -- Simon Crute IS&T. Bracknell. Thank you. I have maked a driver update disk. And I succeed to install SuSE on the card by a floppy(driver update disk). But I don't know how to let autoyast know where he can found my driver in LAN. In other words, I don't know how to write the rule in autoinst.xml, which telling autoyast where my driver is. Thank you. ZAX On 5/8/07, Simon Crute <scrute@novell.com> wrote:

If the machine is installing from an install source of http://install/sles10-i386 then, yast will look for http://install/sles10-i386/driverupdate So, you can just copy the driver update into the root of your install source, or if you're using a mounted ISO to install from, use an apache alias to map that request somewhere else. something like this works for me. alias /sled10-i386/driverupdate /srv/ftp/isos/sled10/gmc/update/driverupdate -- Simon Crute IS&T.
