Hi, where's the feature to save/export a package selection gone in 10.1??? I'm trying to create our own .sel file, but I've no idea how to do that if I cannot save the selection that I create in the software selection menu of autoyast. How am I supposed to create my own selection file, mentioned in section "4.5.3. Custom Package Selections"? Has this feature vanished, once again? cu, Frank -- Dipl.-Inform. it has been dropped from the yast2 package selection dialog and autoyast uses the same dialog. AFAIK there is a bug open for yast2 but at the moment, there is no chance. Maybe it will be fixed via online update and then it's fixed for autoyast too. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstrasse 5, D-90409 Nuernberg, Germany Business: http://www.suse.de/~ug now playing mind.in.a.box - Leave

I know this one is not your fault, but it really really sucks, that with every new SuSE release you can't rely on anything that has worked before. SuSE (or now: Novell) seems to be absolutely unable to keep interfaces stable. This is very very unprofessional and happens way too often. I just remember SuSE, as only distribution in the world, dropping the group admin stuff from SLES8 to 9 just because the maintainer of the SuSE package didn't feel like adding it in the new release. This took us days of work. Feel free to forward this to the yast guys who couldn't be bothered keeping this save-feature. It seems to be part of the new SuSE motto "Don't let the user do anything manually, make him use yast for brushing his teeth" :-( -- Dipl.-Inform. You might try to use makeSUSEdvd (form opensuse.org) - you can add your own
rpms to your dvd and it automatically creates an selection-file. (or you
wanna look at the source of makesusedvd to get to know how to create it on
your own).
