[opensuse-autoinstall] Install problems on HP DL380 G5
Hello everyone, I am having the following problem when trying to install SLES9 sp3 on a HP DL380 G5. I do not have the problem under SLES10. Your computer does not fulfill all requirements for a graphical installation. There is less than 96MB memory or the X server could not be started. As a fallback, the text front-end of YaST will guide you through the installation. This front-end offers the same functionality as the graphical one,but the screens differ from those in the manual. It looks like some other people have had the same issue, but I couldnt' find a posted solution. http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/questionanswer.do?threa... Any help would be greatly appreciated. David Bellis -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

Hi, It looks like the drivers on the sles9 sp3 initrd don't fully recognise the gfx card properly. I'm not sure there is an easy solution to this though. It's more a general setup question rather than an autoyast question. What gfx card is it ? -- Simon Crute IS&T. Bracknell. It has an ATI es1000. The problem does seem to be specific to SLES9. I just confirmed that I can also install RHEL4 & RHEL5 without issue. I'd guess you could fix it with some hacking around to rebuild the initrd. As it's been fixed in sle10, you may get lucky comparing the initrd from sles10 and sles9 on the driver modules. Maybe sles9 sp4 has the fix (when that comes out) On Friday 04 May 2007 16:48, dbellis@mmm.com wrote:
