Some questions about custom CDs / du.dir file
Hi All, I'm testing the yast autoinstall (actually I use version 8.0), and I didnt understood some things: - I want to create a custom CD with a personalized package selection. In the AutoYast2 docs (http://www.suse.de/~nashif/autoinstall/), is mentioned the use of the create_package_descr script. I use this script, and it generate three files: packages, package.en and packages.DU. How I use this files ? Is this valid for 8.0 versions ? - For tests, I modified the common.pkd file, and I have success in the installation. But the disk space is presented of incorrect form. I need to recreate the du.dir file, how I make it ? I see some in to the create_package_descr script, is there a way to use only these functions ? - In the same subject, I want to create with the same packages of the distro, but I want to use a personalized installation profile. I have the same problem with size presentation. In this case, I need to reconstruct the du.dir file ??? I use the 8.0 version because the installed base is this, but we are testing 8.1 for migration. If some functionality isn't supported in to the 8.0 version, please they inform to me. With best regards, Fabiano
Sorry about my uninformed, the create_package_descr script generate files in 8.1 format. I go to change my question: is there something thus for the 8.0 version ??? (The question on the du.dir file being valid)... Thanks, Fabiano On Tue, 2002-12-03 at 13:12, Fabiano Felix wrote:

No, this is only valid starting from 8.1
- For tests, I modified the common.pkd file, and I have success in the installation. But the disk space is presented of incorrect form. I need to recreate the du.dir file, how I make it ? I see some in to the create_package_descr script, is there a way to use only these functions ?
You can always hack your own script, for 8.0 there is no easy way to do it.
- In the same subject, I want to create with the same packages of the distro, but I want to use a personalized installation profile. I have the same problem with size presentation. In this case, I need to reconstruct the du.dir file ???

Creating package database is much easier in 8.1 Anas
