[opensuse-autoinstall] 12.2: Yast Autoinstallation module crashes
Hello all, after setting up a 12.2 machine, I wanted to clone some of its settings for autoinstallation. But the "Autoinstallation" module from Yast keeps crashing when I click "Save as" or "View Source" when I clone my LDAP settings for example (with other settings as well, but not everything). I get the error message: ----------- YaST got signal 11 at YCP file Partitions.ycp:126 /sbin/yast2: line 427: 1358 Segmentation fault $ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2UI_ARGS ----------- Anyone else having this problem? Best regards, Joschi Brauchle

This is normally a sign that versions of libstorage and yast2-storage do not match. Please check if libstorage[34] and yast2-storage are from same repository. Hello, both packages come from the same repo, which should be 12.2 GM. The versions are: Yast2-storage: 2.22.10-1.1.1 Libstorage4: 2.22.11-1.1.1 Notice the .10 vs .11 Best regards, Joschi Brauchle Am 31.08.2012 um 19:05 schrieb "Thomas Fehr" <fehr@suse.de>:

The 10 vs 11 is fine, this are the versions on 12.2 GM, strange. Could you verify if the files on disk match the content of RPM database by doing: rpm -V libstorage4 rpm -V yast2-storage I will check this on my 12.2 test install on Monday Bye, Thomas Fehr -- Thomas Fehr, SuSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nuernberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Tel: +49-911-74053-0, Fax: +49-911-74053-482, Email: fehr@suse.de GPG public key available. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+owner@opensuse.org
Hi, Both package seem to be installed just fine, rpm -V does not report any problems. I will also double check that the repos and the setup is correct on Monday! Best regards, Joschi Brauchle Am 01.09.2012 um 11:32 schrieb "Thomas Fehr" <fehr@suse.de>:

I could reproduce the problem here. It is caused by calling storage related functions while libstorage is not yet initialised. I created a fixed version 2.22.6 of autoyast package which you can download after the repo got synced from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/fehr/openSUSE_12.2/ It should also be enough to replace attached file storage_auto.ycp with the file in /usr/share/YaST2/clients/storage_auto.ycp Tschuess, Thomas Fehr -- Thomas Fehr, SuSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nuernberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Tel: +49-911-74053-0, Fax: +49-911-74053-482, Email: fehr@suse.de GPG public key available.
Hello, I can confirm that replacing "storage_auto.ycp" with the attached version fixes the problem! Thank you! Best regards, Joschi Brauchle On 09/03/2012 01:07 PM, Thomas Fehr wrote:
