I am installing SLES8 with autoinstall using NFS. I have copied all four installation CD's (starting with the boot CD and ending with the UnitedLinux CD #3) into a subdirectory at an NFS mountable location. If I autoinstall UnitedLinux base (<base>UnitedLinux</base>), everything works fine, but if I try to install default base (<base>default</base>) I get the message "error while configuring software selections". Since there are no further error messages, I don't know what it is missing. Interestingly, if I copy the four installation CD's into the NFS subdirectory in reverse order (starting with UnitedLinux CD #3 and ending with the boot CD), autoinstallation acts as if I have requested installation from CD's and prompts me to insert UnitedLinux CD #1, even though I have specified NFS autoinstallation. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? Sincerely, Don Watson Linux Technology and Solutions; Beaverton, OR 503-578-4861/TL: 775-4861; dwatson@us.ibm.com
