No kernel with 8.1

Hi! I'm trying to get autoyast NFS installation working. But I've got 2 problems: 1. I'm installing the standard package selection, but after the install finished there's no kernel installed?!?! Is this intended? Do I need to add it to the packages? 2. My X11 configuration is totally ignored. All I get is the default 640x480 resolution with very few colors. Anyone else having this problem?
