Hi I am a little bit lost with BTRFS. The reason i would like to use BTRFS is the ability to shrink a btrfs filesystem on the fly . But if i use only one disk for btrfs , btrfs will use the whole disk and i would need to implement subvolumes WITHOUT the ability to limit the size of a given subvolume (directory ) Example: /dev/sda1 BTRFS / ( subvolume) /tmp (subvolume ) If i use partition i can shrink but i am not able to give the free space to a different partition ( Without repartitioning) So it looks like that i need still a LVM approach or is there any quota management ? Any comments and tips for BTRFS ?
