firstboot actions

I want to use some of the "Configuration" steps provided by an interactive install, with my automated install. Like let a user create their account, set the hostname, set the time zone, set the keyboard, and walk through the hardware configuration section but skip things like the root password, firewall, online update, network test etc. Is there a way to configure this?
