[Q] creating/using package selections

Dear Listmembers, I would like to do an autoinstall for stand-alone systems without having a network connection using the DVD. Is it possible to use as self-build package selection list for doing this. I'm thinking of giving the the source of the selection similar to the place of the info xml file. Is this possible? Second: how can I generate a package selection without having a system running on exactly the same packages? Yast2 was not that much helpful on this task or wasn't I able to do the right clicks?
