Fred, A couple. Buy Partition Magic which works under Windows to resize your WinMe partition. From what I've read on the box it also works with Linux. The comfort factor of working with a Windows product is there. 2nd. Buy a new hard disk and install Suse on it. I'm very, very conservative so I create a boot floppy disk and boot Suse off of it. It doesn't take that much longer I think. The safety net is I don't mess with my MBR. If I lost my WinME dual boot with Win2000, I'd croak. Hope this helps. Just got the Suse 8 Personal box, read through the doc and started it up. I wanted to shrink my Windows (ME) partition, but the install says my one and only partition is "unknown" and wants to format the whole thing. I don't get any other options for this question.
Frankly this is a little too early in the install process to be running into problems as far as I'm concerned. (I assumed I would have problems with it recognizing that CD/RW and CD-Rom were the same thing, or something with the sound, etc.) Any suggestions?
