i have been installing 32bit (suse 9.x) but would now like to try the 64bit version...what parts of my netinstall/autoinst env need to be changed? do i have to have a 64 bit install system to install? If you have an installation repository containing both architectures (i586/x86_64) it should be sufficient to boot the 64-bit kernel and to use the 64-bit installation initrd to invoke the 64-bit install. In SuSE 9.3 you can find them on the installation media at /boot/loader/linux64 and /boot/loader/initrd64. You needn't change the xml-file unless you want to include some 32-bit libraries to support 32-bit programs. These libraries can be found in the x86_64 tree and are marked with -32bit- in their name.
