Hi Anas
I went through the doc. According to the doc, we require to setup BootP/DHCP and tftp servers. But in my current setup we have a netware server as dhcp server and I have configured tftp on suse 8.2 linux server. I don't know how to proceed.
dhcp server has to point to the tftp server so that the client knows where to download the image from after an IP has been assigned. The image in the case would be pxelinux.0 from the syslinux package. Once this image has been fetched, pxe boots and tries to retrieve the configuration for the client from /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg. In this configuration file you can specfy all the options you want for installation, including the location of the installation server and the autoyast control file.
Is it possible to create a boot disk and a configuration file which gives information of NFS server, from where to get the IP (i.e., specifying the DHCP Server IP), hostname, router .....
dhcp does not work this way, you can specify where to get the ip from cause the client at this point wont have a network connection anyways. You can boot using floppies, but this is alot of hassle and it takes time. Maybe you can boot using the CD, specifying the boot option on boot menu...
I Have created 3 floppies according to the readme doc bootdisk.img modules1 modules3 (for network modules)

Does anyone know of a good site with a step-by-step how-to on doing
an

how a
tftp server is required as well as a dhcp server. I'm not sure how
to
integrate everything together though.
thanks marshall
