Ok, nevermind. The system I was working with is very tempermental (mental being the key). I got this working on another system with SATA. Still not sure what the deal is, but I have noticed that some systems fail with Fedora Core4, but work with SUSE 9.3 and/or Mandriva 2005 LE. Others work with Mandriva only. All three are using the same base kernel (2.6.11). Thanks. GrueMaster <gruemaster@yahoo.com> wrote: Drive shows up correctly. It's a SATA drive connected to the ICH5 controller port on board. Doing a manual install worked fine (drive detection, partioning, etc). Fails with the profile, though. It is downloading the profile via ftp from our server (wish I could make it a linux server). It just fails on the partion config section. Attached is my /var/log/Yast2 directory (tarball). The only error I can find is from parted (lines 256,257). Am I missing something? To start, I just want to complete an install. Here's my basic.xml file (sans post-install script).
your profile is working fine here with a 9.3. Do you have any hardware that might not be getting detected? For example, when you see the error box, switch to the console and check if your harddisk is accessible via fdisk. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstrasse 5, D-90409 Nürnberg, Germany e-mail: uwe.gansert@suse.de, Tel: +49-(0)911-74053-0, Fax: +49-(0)911-74053-476, Web: http://www.suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: suse-autoinstall-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands, e-mail: suse-autoinstall-help@suse.com --------------------------------- Yahoo!
