[opensuse-artwork] meeting agenda
Heya, I know you're all busily working - I've seen the threads on the 12.3 distro artwork and the 12.3 promo things like banners. I think it's important to have a clear idea about what needs to be done. That is especially important not only for the release of the distro, but also for the hackaton we have next month: to make sure we don't forget things and to make sure we don't spend time discussing instead of working there. On the distro side, Richard has posted a good start of a list. From the promo side, I'd be happy to help make a list of some things (but that would need help from other promo people and all of you - I don't know all the stuff we need). To kickstart things, I created this wiki page: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Artwork_Todo I tried to add some things on the promo side there as well as what Richard posted, corrections and additions are welcome as I didn't add the status to the things discussed here recently. If this is the wrong approach - please, just change or remove the wiki page. It's mostly that I made this page after seeing mails with "todo" as title and because I think it would be extremely helpful for the hackaton :D Might be a good idea to use a meeting or two to work on these lists... Hugs, Jos

Oh, and I know the format is bad - I'm not too good with tables, help is welcome... :D

Format is good. Tables are good too, but not for casual contributor, and that makes them useless in this case. Thanks for effort :) -- Regards, Rajko. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

Great, although I think that application splash screens should not be branded anymore. And supporting Raster graphics for core work is not done by adjusting the makefile. There is much more work to do. One has to check if it's resizable and can be croped. This still has to be done manually. On that point, it clearly simple, we as openSUSE project didn't distribute the upstream tarball, nor binary. And so (like it was the case with libreoffice, we are not allowed to use the official upstream splash) So basically for certain apps we still need to have geeko's variant of the splash ;-( -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Ambassador GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

I have already written about this, but IMO kdelibs *must* be branded. Current upstream branding would fit only with a distro whose branding takes it's inspiration from some circus show. I have already looked into that, and will try to fix it in the next days -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

Could you point out the apps which still need splashes? Afaik at least for gimp we could use the default splash. On libreoffice I am not sure. Greets Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

I have asked Michael Meeks and he said that we can use the default LibreOffice splash. Only if we want to use the "The Document Foundation" byline (which is not part of the default splash), then it needs to be produced by TDF: checkout: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Logo_Policy or http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/TDF/Policies/TradeMark_Policy
So basically for certain apps we still need to have geeko's variant of the splash

As the linked bug is totally irrelevant to the licensing topic, I wonder why you have posted it? If you mean me, with the above statement, is your intend to fool me? I clearly announced that I will not be available during that time (which was 09/2012). I have of course spoken to Petr about several other things and even managed other BZs with him before (and also did a bunch of LO splashes for the last few releases.
