Re: [opensuse-artwork] Meeting Scheduled
Jos, What about the recurrent problem that meetings and discussions are being carried out, often with decisions being made, without the participation of the actual contributors putting stuff in the distribution? This Saturday for example is terrible for me, given I'm tied up with other stuff - I don't expect the world to revolve around me, but I would think as one of those more knowledgeable about the Release process, it would have been nice if I could have had a say about the scheduling so I could contribute. For those who need to convert time zones (as I did) here is a nice little link: http://www.timezoneconverter.com/
So for me, I need to be in the IRC at noon Saturday.

Due to the proximity of the release, only crucial issues and progress only, as to not derail release thus this meeting is for progress reports and to show what is happening and to ask for any assistance (so should be a short meeting) to organise efforts and know exactly what is going on and when should be finished for testing.
Then it will be open floor for anyone to ask for clarification and discuss any issues on their minds related to release, however final decisions will be made on the ML.
Now I must stress this meeting/gathering is going ahead no matter what and at this time, no changes will be made and any mails related to this one will be ignored. Any changes can be asked for at the meeting,
I still don't support this. Michael is doing it exactly the same way as andi did for the flicker contest jury.
For me the weekend is for private life. If we want to do regular meetings, I would prefer if we would schedule it on a weekday.
We can never accommodate everyone, can we? I would personally have suggested to use a http://www.doodle.com/ way of picking a good date/time but if nobody shows up here, that's proof enough it doesn't work and if most/all show up, that shows it works. Don't take it to heavily for now...

People can, by definition, only decide what THEY will do. And who does the work decides (unless two people do the work on one thing and get in conflict). So decisions mean very little when the maintainer of whatever is being discussed isn't there... (which is a good reason why it would be wise to try and have meetings at a time when at least the maintainers of the artwork in openSUSE, one of which is you, can be there)

Right, so there is no need that maintainer is present, at least when plan is clear and there are plenty of topics that are never touched. Also, we should never forget that branding for 12.3 is just one of tasks that people can take on, and if they feel uncomfortable with it there are other areas that need some work. -- Regards, Rajko. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

Sure, as long as the people don't think they can make final decisions on things which are not maintained by them, then fine. There's plenty of stuff which isn't maintained at all (or doesn't need a maintainer, like artwork for stickers, flyers, posters, t-shirts, the conference and other events - etc, which we all need DESPERATELY. Let me repeat - a good design for a sticker or improvements to the flyers, a t-shirt design - boy, would that be awesome. I hereby promise anyone who comes up with a half-decent* t-shirt design gets a t-shirt of his (her) own design in his (her) size signed by the entire openSUSE team AND a few extra for the fun of it. (half-decent meaning good enough that we decide to print a bunch - and right now, we're printing *NOTHING* simply because we have NO good design) Oh and the same for posters and stickers. There you go. Should be enough to have a few meetings about :D

I'm confused. These are conference-related designs. Isn't Jos asking for general openSUSE designs that can be distributed to multiple events? Bryen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org
"Isn't Jos asking for general openSUSE designs that can be distributed to multiple events?" could be :D but even it is related to the general openSUSE things, oh my gosh jos was so rude, I mean, everyone that knows him understand that he is an dammit nice and polite guy, so now I´m confusing too. @Jos what are making you to suffer about artwork. Not only me but all of artwork team I believe have the same goal and are more than ready to understand your points. I know I was out for so long, but others not, and everyone I HOPE are here to help you to help us to help the project to help the rest of the world. I do not know too much about the actual status of the artwork team, but I know that we have tons of things to do, to finish, to make things happen. some bullets about what you see as priorities or what are making you dissapointed about our design are more than welcome, and we will figure out the best way to fix this. keep spreading hugs jos, maybe Iḿ not the best guy to tell this, but do like some friends of mine "read, ponder and make questions" by the way, I let more pics that I made to be moderated, commented, or just to see if that pics help something in the project or to be more focused in the Conference. https://picasaweb.google.com/104830275042059445407/OSC13#5836338693365346850 https://picasaweb.google.com/104830275042059445407/OSC13#5836339212930903570 CarlosRibeiro 2013/1/22 Bryen M Yunashko <suserocks@bryen.com>:

Didn't you notice that Carlos is genius. Laurel branch is universal symbol of winning Geeko :) Put some text around and you have event specific design.
