[opensuse-artwork] Proposal: Styled Default openSUSE 11.3
Hey all, Hereby a new proposal for openSUSE 11.3...... 1.) I would like to see a little more 'feeling' in openSUSE 11.3. An photo as wallpaper with a warmer colorscheme makes the desktop hopefully more personal feeling then the style at the moment. 2.) Novice users have no idea how to 'pimp' their desktop so we should do it for them. Add some nice plasmoids, tweak some nice effects for people with composite on, stylize Dolphin. We spend so much time at making openSUSE the most stable distro out there, let's spend some extra on making it the most easy-on-the-eyes for 11.3 Used: - Own colorscheme - Window and Styletheme: Bespin - Plasmatheme: Air for openSUSE - Forced 96 DPI - Adjusted menubar for Dophin - Some background from KDE-Look The idea can be seen at: http://en.opensuse.org/Artwork:Pixel_Pool/11.3/BartOtten_StyledDefault -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+help@opensuse.org

Hi Bart, while I agree on what you said above, the included screenshots in my eyes completely contradict with it. High-contrast, highly saturated wallpapers are anything but easy on the eyes. I recommend looking at the desktop styling guidelines, particularly the wallpaper section*. It's important to see what's on the desktop rather than having the wallpaper obfuscate it. cheers * http://en.opensuse.org/Artwork:Guidelines#Wallpapers -- Jakub Steiner <jimmac@gmail.com> http://jimmac.musichall.cz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+help@opensuse.org
