[opensuse-artwork] having fun... ???
Heya all, I'm looking for a fun slogan or picture - something that makes people laugh. Like a t-shirt saying "ROCK IS DEAD (and paper killed it)" or one of the better xkcd comics ;-) Something for a sticker, poster or a t-shirt... Any ideas? /jos
Hi Jos,
Is there a particular theme you would like to see there? I mean - what
is it for? and how suse related is it?
Best Regards,
Eugene Trounev

Hmmm. So it should indeed be something openSUSE, but it doesn't have to have a super clear geeko relation - something general FOSS or even just 'IT' would be fine, if we can reasonably put a geeko below it and print it on a sticker or shirt :D I'm not promising anything but I've been thinking we need more FUN t-shirts... But I'm, while crazy, not particularly funny so I have a hard time coming up with something :D /Jos

So 'Change your password to "incorrect" to sync your login message" wouldn't work? :-) Bryen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

Hm, still depends on what you define as "fun". What about using some quotes of Linus Torvalds, RMS or other famous FLOSS developers? BTW, another topic I guess, but what about a memorial t-shirt for Dennis Ritchie? If Ritchie wouldn't have been, we all would use anything but Linux... hope this helps, --kdl

That actually sounds rather cultish. :-) Sort of like "We drink the Kool-aid." I can see a lot of negative reaction to such a phrase and the whole "You're just a shill" comments rising up again which we haven't actually seen in quite a while. But the concept behind the line is good. Just needs a lot more work to demonstrate that we're connected to openSUSE but also a free-thinking community with in fact more freedom than other "kool-aid-drinking distros" :-) Bryen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org
Hi,
I think these old jokes are too old, too often heared. And it
shouldn't be too geeky.
something I tried:
"Social networks? Be a part of a word wide community."
"save coffee, take Linux."
"Thanks, I'm free now."

Yes, they are a tad old... It would be better to have something fresh. But Geeky is absolutely OK imho. I also like "Without geometry, life is pointless" quite a bit, not sure how to add a geeko to that one however. "Got the point. (geeko)", maybe, on the back or so. Not that it makes any sense :( And what about "No place like 127.0.0.1 + geeko" door mats for openSUSE? ;-)

How about you look for a designer with a style you like instead of a specific design? For t-shirts for instance there are communities already (like threadless.com or teefury.com) where you can find tons and tons of talented people you can contact who most definitely can produce what you are looking for if you talk to them a bit about our community, what it is and what it means to us and the world.
