[opensuse-artwork] Re: [opensuse-project] I-Support-the-Guiding-Principles-Button-Template
Hay'a! Thank you Jared for voting! Here are two new micobanner, inspired by Charles (=> opensue- artwork) draft. http://files.opensuse.org/opensuse/en/e/eb/Support_gp_green.png http://files.opensuse.org/opensuse/en/3/32/Support_gp_grey.png They are now more similar to the banners we already have. Vetos, suggestions? Cheers! Robert On 08.10.2007, at 21:11, Jared Allen wrote:

Hi,
We plan to make a button-template for the o.o-wiki, which can be used by users e.g. on the wiki-user-pages to show, that they support the guiding principles.
I made 2 drafts for a button:

Any vetoes, suggestions, ideas? I'd probably pick the all-green one, but both look good to me.
Jared

IMO it would be more appropriate to pixelize (*) the "opensuse" text,
it's not that easy to read as it's an antiliased, scaled down TTF font.
(*) don't use a font but draw it pixel by pixel
More of the likes of what I hacked over a year ago:
http://files.opensuse.org/opensuse/en/8/8c/Opensuse-black.png
http://files.opensuse.org/opensuse/en/f/ff/Opensuse-green.png
That's common practice for such web banners (that always have a rather
small text size).
cheers

Why isn't the crystal diamond icon theme not part of SUSE yet?

Robert's banners are nicely designed. I would also suggest using a bitmap font to improve readability, ie: http://www.auriance.com/docs/tmp/microbanner-opensuse.org.png http://www.auriance.com/docs/tmp/microbanner-opensuse.png Kind regards, -- Charles A. Is that a font? How it's called? I really like it.

Yep, it's called "04b21". You can find other bitmap fonts here: http://www.dafont.com/bitmap.php Cheers, -- Charles A. Landemaine. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+help@opensuse.org

May I misunderstand you, but the last version is pixelpushed and not just written. It's the same writing like on your microbanner. So ... I agree with you, Pascal :-) Cheers! ____________________________________________________________ Robert Lihm, Graphics Designer SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, D-90409 Nuernberg Tel: +49-911-74053-0 - rlihm@suse.de ____________________________________________________________ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) ____________________________________________________________ SUSE - a Novell business -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+help@opensuse.org
