[opensuse-artwork] openSUSE 12.1 is done
Hi, I'm sure you heared about it :) But now would be a good time to discuss large scale changes for 12.2, actually I would prefer that we have something broken in Milestone1 instead of leaving the 12.1 artwork till beta1 again ;( Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

this is a good idea Alas I can only give ideas, no real help else than spreading and using any new artwork for factory as soon as we agree thanks jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

here are some ideas: I would like to see some consistence on the artwork of successive distros. looks like the poll we did on color was strongly in favor of green, so may be we have to keep green at least some time. So I see txo way of keeping consistent: changing king of green or keeping the same color and changing the curves on it. If we have time and manpower, having optional artwork of and other color, like blue or red could also be a good idea to make changing color easier in the future I would also like to have some artwork fitted to diaporama/video thanks jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

Sounds like the invitation for the mother of all bikeshedding debates. My 2 cents are if you choose green, you're committing us to working with inferior materials, because any green coming from the light of a blue LED hitting some phosphors that are supposed to emit something greenish is bound to be a bit hit and miss. More details from my post back in June: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-artwork/2011-06/msg00045.html Oh and this time around I am going to pick up my brush instead of just talking. Be very afraid; the last time I did digital artwork in anger was the Kopete icons used in about KDE 3.1 in 2003 and the old KWallet icon ;). +1 I also have to say that I'm impressed with 12.1's artwork; very green, fresh and KDE-ish. :-) Cheers, Javier
