If the composition is quite nice, the hard thing is keeping it all the day in front of you. The blurry foreground is certainly the reason. I agree with Bruno. Picture is nice to see, composition is good, but at the same time it is far from being calming background. If foreground, or elements of it, would be sharp that would give quite different effect. Problem is that our brain is set to look for sharp part of an image and one that is blurry keeps it busy in attempt to find sharp part, which is producing strain in the eyes. This is well known to people that have to use eye glasses, when they forget them at home :)

You have more images that are quite good compositions, and would be interesting to some people, not to mention that a lot of them have black elements and will combine well with dark desktop theme in 12.3. As there are no plans to change that for 13.1, they will fit there too. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kmonsoor/8356457891/in/photostream/ This one is better then blurred version when considered as a wallpaper. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kmonsoor/8688960481/in/photostream As art it is perfect, but as a wallpaper is nearly perfect, but I'm sure some (many) people will find it irresistible. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kmonsoor/8589012033/in/photostream/ Red and black can fit in overall dark openSUSE theme. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kmonsoor/8559540177/in/photostream/ Try with full screen option when viewing image. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kmonsoor/8529650721/in/photostream/ Just a bit larger as only 1024 px limits its use to smaller screens. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kmonsoor/8521674749/in/photostream/ Blue Moon. And there is many more. You obviously have talent to catch a moment and with additional processing underscore that even better.
