I'm not sure that website's declaration that it's Public Domain is factually correct..actually I'm pretty sure it's wrong US Copyright law protects for 70 years, so Godzilla will be protected until 2026 - http://web.law.duke.edu/cspd/publicdomainday/2013/pre-1976 To make matters worse, Godzilla is trademarked, and trademarks are for as long as the company holds them cares about them..
