not bad, but is that allowed. The official logo use is strictly restricted (the wiki is down just now, so I can't give the link)
It is restricted what is considered logo and any change makes it not a logo. This includes proportions, orientation, color, included text. Details can be found on the web in the few agencies that deal with registration of trademarks. I've checked US, German and France. (And I have no links as it was just transient interest.)
Note that those rules are most relevant for OUTSIDERS. openSUSE has a right to the trademark. Now we should not break the rules that much ourselves but we can make exceptions. It'd be silly to sue ourselves, in any case... So don't go too crazy but if you want something and can only do it by bending the rules a bit - do it :D
