Exactly like Bruno says - theming in KDE is a MAJOR pain in the BT. I agree that theme is somewhat weird looking, but quite honestly after reverse engineering a few of the existing themes, and many tries and failures - this is what we came up with. If you find it in your heart to step in and help we will be eternally grateful! Thank you for your input though. KDE login screen in 12.2 is strange looking, not simple as some elements suggests.

I actually don't know where to start. To make email shorter here are my comments: http://paste.opensuse.org/36344173
And here is a fast mockup of what I think will look better: http://paste.opensuse.org/34977242
As fast mockup, I meant that there was no time to fix every detail, so there is many copy paste errors, mainly due to gradients that I did not try to fix.
Shadow of openSUSE logo in a dark gray area is intentional. I like that way.
Also, now when published, I see that: * linux.site fits better with Users * space between input fields and icons should be smaller * time and date are just unnecessary noise
(and, no I will not try to fix all that without rich help from someone that understands code behind current login screen)

Rajko, If you or someone has something like ~8 to 16 hours free he should be able to fixup the theme, but not sure. cause theming kdm is real pain in A.
First I'm really annoyed that the users list appear by default. This is a bug in the packaging or defaults in kdm package. It's available for users that want it not by default ( Minimizing security risk )
About the space of the two field, once you will read the source of the themes, you will understand that placement is done by % on that field, but you didn't see that you could have a third field domain : for all people needing to connect to AD/Samba domain. Was one big missing in the 12.1
About the placement of users list, once you will try to get it on and off without having the login box and that working on all kind of screen size, you will choose that place it at left is the best solution. :-)
Regards and good luck.
Workflow : git checkout the new github branding repository use 12.2 branch and start hacking the kdm theme. once done, open a bug on bugzilla as 12.2 is on deep freezing state. open a merge request for the source, then branch the package, build the new branding and osc sr the result.
