Should we have a design theme at least? that way we create artwork that is more consistent with 1, the distribution, 2, the artwork team. Many would think that designing based on a particular theme or idea is limiting, but the true genius of artists is to take familiar materials and create something wonderful. We could all have red oil and a brush, yet the canvas will be painted differently every time. That was the idea. We could align our ideas about wallpapers so that they don't seem to different for users and then use them for the upcoming release. We do not have to have a challenge. Better yet we could have a theme, not a motto, a theme. It could be based on design elements we always use for example, say we need to use "leaves" on our wallpaper creations. Or something of the sort. What say you? :D Andy (anditosan) On Tue, Dec 13, 2011 at 1:19 PM, Marcus Moeller <marcus.moeller@gmx.ch> wrote:
Hi all.
I had an idea this morning about creating a design challenge for th artwork team. Tigerfoot mentioned that the slogan for the next release is "Show Me Your Tail." I think this could be a great theme for a wallpaper design challenge. However I would like to get some input from all of you. I think also we might need to do some work on our wiki to show the challenge page with all the submissions.
Let me know if you would like to go ahead with a wallpaper challenge.
As I mentioned before, I am not that big fan of 'challanges' nor even motto based artwork. I am just a fan of good design ;)
