[opensuse-arm] SUSE or openSUSE images for x86
Greetings, Somewhere around 22nd Dec 2016, RaspberryPi.org updated an image of Debian for x86. This of course can lure people to endorse Raspbian/Debian when their old PC dies for real. I am wondering, do SUSE or openSUSE have any project to cater for x86? This will help putting one foot in the door, figurately speaking and pave the way to x64 versions Tumbleweed, SUSE, Leap ... Just my two cents... May I take this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year 2017, full of fun and above all health! You mean something like SUSE Studio? Alex -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

Hallo Alex, "They" supply a live image that can be burnt on a usb key so that one can save their work... I have played with SUSE Studio, but here we need sturdy x86 images for mass distribution. I don't quite understand the question... Of course openSUSE is available for x86, longer than for ARM, and there are GNOME and KDE based Live .isos available that you should be able to dd on a USB stick: http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/iso/ For comparison purposes there are also x86_64 based JeOS images built off our ARM JeOS image, but with the new multibuild OBS feature I don't see where we could actually download them... Docker images are also conveniently available, to explore the userspace. And since you include SUSE in the question, there are SUSE Linux Enterprise Server JeOS products available that are different from the openSUSE ARM JeOS images in that they are mainly targeted at virtual machines: https://www.suse.com/products/server/jeos/ A Happy New Year to you as well, Andreas -- SUSE Linux GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org
