Unfortunately I may not be of much help because I don't own a RPi 3. I only have a RPi 4 with Tumbleweed and Xfce which all run just fine. Have you tried other images with different DE?
As mentioned in the bug, KDE image is neither working. So the ticket is reassinged to the XOrg team, but no response since then (~10 weeks) Cheers Axel
