[opensuse-arm] Regular sync meeting
Hi folks, First off, thanks a lot for your contributions, help and all the other awesomeness you have been doing. We are what makes openSUSE on ARM possible. Never forget that :). And because we are so many people who do different things, we some times need to coordinate to know which direction we want to walk towards as a whole and to make sure we don't waste time in duplicated efforts. So I would like to propose that we hold a regular phone meeting, open to everyone who wants to join, to discuss current affairs of openSUSE for ARM, roadmaps, timelines, etc. When would work for people? Who would be in? Is it easier for folks to do it during working or non-working hours? Would you prefer weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, irregular? Looking forward to a bunch of constructive replies :) Alex-- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

Thank you for coordinating all the chaos and mayhem :)

An excellent idea!

Personally I'd rather it was during working hours, I think weekly would be a reasonable starting point. If need be it can be moved as and when if there is no change, but seeing as there is more and more momentum I would go with weekly, even if it's only 15min. It would also be good if there were minutes per se of the meeting just so we remember what we discussed previously etc and also to help with action items.
Looking forward to a bunch of constructive replies :)

Nice idea, maybe IRC would be easier for some people?

Working hours is fine for me. Then, it depends on what must be discussed but weekly seems to be a good start.
Looking forward to a bunch of constructive replies :)

Well, I did have bad experience with IRC meetings. I personally tend to ignore IRC easier than a voice shouting at me :). Also, a phone is much higher bandwidth so it's easier to bring up something quickly. I do agree however that we should in parallel all be in IRC to be able to paste links and logs easily.

Awesome. So I suppose most people would be good to do the call weekly during working hours then? I'll leave the poll open for another day or two to make sure we don't miss out on anyone :). I would assume that work time is no issue for SUSE employees though. Oh, cool. Would you be interested in joining as well? :)

That's why we're doing this poll. So far, everyone who claimed interest is in Europe. If we have folks interested from other time zones, we obviously need to take that into consideration :)
My feeling is that biweekly is a good cadence.
I think until we have 12.2 out, meeting more regularly is better than less. Once we got through the crucial phase of having _anything_ usable out, I think we can do it a bit less often. The worst thing that could happen with a weekly setup now is that we have very short meetings when there's nothing up. Once that happens more often than not, we should definitely reconsider the timings :) Alex -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

While I don't consider myself a core team member, rather an enthusiastic ARM and openSUSE user/tester/packager, I'd be glad to join. I'd prefer working hours, once a week and not on Mondays (as I say, to my boss: I work four days a week and have meetings all day long on Mondays :-) ). Not yet. Will talk to some folks in person and then post again some options to the list. Alex -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org
