[opensuse-arm] openSUSE Factory ARM DTBs are outdated
Hi, the DTBs in Factory:ARM are all outdated. Could you trigger a rebuild, please? Currently, Beaglebone black does not boot due to a too old DTB (SD card not found). Hi Guillaume,

Done. The real fix is to make sure that the packages become uninstallable if the kernel version does not match, then they will get rebuild automatically. I"ll take a look at that..

Ok. AArch64 fails to build now because AArch64 DTS files have been moved to subfolders. :/ Guillaume

SR #287572 to Base:System should fix AArch64 for 3.19+ kernels. Guillaume

I had reported that early based on my Kernel:HEAD branch, but Alex said we needed to wait until 3.19 hits Factory. :/ If you have a suggestion how we can make things dependent on the kernel version, I'd be all for it. 3.19 _is_ in Factory! ;) Guillaume

Yes, and the point is we could not prepare it before it was. Yes. You may have missed my e-mail telling I fixed it and sent a SR. Guillaume -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

I didn't. A link would've been helpful (https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/287572) and it confirms my suspicion: You just fixed the fallout. Me however, I was saying that for avoiding this in the future we need an "if kernel >= 3.19" type of construct, and that's not in your SR. Suggestions welcome. Also I would very much like files to get installed to, e.g., /boot/dtb-3.19.0, so that switching between multiple installed kernel versions gets easier. That's something that I've had on my TODO list (%post can create a symlink /boot/dtb like we have /boot/zImage and /boot/initrd). Hi Guillaume,
Ok. AArch64 fails to build now because AArch64 DTS files have been moved to subfolders. :/
Thank you for the SR. after thinking about it, I thought it might be better to not adjust the naming of the dtb packages but simply fix the packaging, although we need to adjust the u-boot scripts in either case :-/ I've linked the new packages to openSUSE:Factory:ARM for now to have the images fixed quickly, hopefully within the next few hours. So, it will break updates. :( Guillaume
