[opensuse-arm] RPi3 Leap image links broken
Hi Adrian, We just had an openSUSE user report on IRC that the Leap 42.3 image links for the RPi3 are broken - and they indeed are: http://download.opensuse.org/ports/aarch64/distribution/leap/42.3/appliances... This is the link we provide on the web page. If you look at the directory, you will see that there is a properly built image: openSUSE-Leap42.3-ARM-JeOS-raspberrypi3.aarch64-2017.07.26-Build1.1.raw.xz but with full name indicating the build date. We usually have short links for those to allow links from the outside world. IIUC they get created in the publishing step, right? Funnily enough, we do have short links for "tbz" targets, but our "raw.xz" ones are all missing them. Made links point to the right images. Only there is no LXQT image at all. -- fr.gr. member openSUSE Freek de Kruijf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

The links were correct; something went wrong during publishing that did not create symlinks on the web server, hence the email to Adrian. If you change the web links to a specific version, any change to the JeOS sources will make them obsolete again and we‘ll be stuck in a busy loop fixing web links all day :). The images for Leap 42.3 should not change anymore, any update should be done on the update repository. -- fr.gr. member openSUSE Freek de Kruijf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

No, the Ports project is not frozen, and the Ports images are not part of the Update repository. I disagree. This is the output of zypper lr on my RPi3 with Leap 42.3. 1 | openSUSE-Ports-Leap-42.3-Update | openSUSE-Ports-Leap-42.3-Update 2 | openSUSE-Ports-Leap-42.3-repo-oss | openSUSE-Ports-Leap-42.3-repo-oss I never saw anything updated from the repo-oss. It is frozen as it should. -- fr.gr. member openSUSE Freek de Kruijf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

I never saw anything updated from the repo-oss. It is frozen as it should.
Where you get updates or not says nothing about image-building in OBS. Please look at OBS before arguing I'm wrong - I did check. https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/openSUSE:Leap:42.3:Ports Thanks, Andreas -- SUSE Linux GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

Looking on that page I see to the right of ports disabled 10368, excluded 1. Does not look like anything changes. Looking on the page http://download.opensuse.org/ports/aarch64/distribution/ leap/42.3/appliances/ I see a date 26 july 2017 as the date of publication, so this image did not change since that date. A simple user, guided by the information on the wiki, gets the image for the RPi3 for Leap 42.3 from that repository. Maybe somewhere else (in OBS shown to the right of images_arm; Meta shows <build><disable/></build>, means building is disbled?) new images are build for 42.3, but these are not shown to the simple user. I agree the names for the images should not contain a date and a Build version. When this is changed, my change on the wiki can be reversed. -- fr.gr. member openSUSE Freek de Kruijf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org
