[opensuse-arm] kernel-firmware for amrv5?
Hi, kernel-firmware needs kernel-default to be built but amrv5 has no kernel-default, so kernel-firmware is not buildable. Kernel-default seems to be used to add some firmwares to the package. I guess kernel-firmware should be useful for armv5, so we have 2 solutions: * 1st: add -default kernel flavour for armv5. (but which flavour will be the default?) * 2nd: add a package overlay in Factory:ARM (a local patch) to build kernel-firmware without kernel-default deps. What would be the best? If you have any idea, please share. Guillaume -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

kernel-firmware needs kernel-default, to generate smart Supplements: for the package, to only install on hardware for which it provides firmware. So a 3rd option would be to change the kernel packages to have Recommends: kernel-firmware, install it by default everywhere and drop the Supplements: from kernel-firmware. It seems a good solution to me. Who would be authoritative to accept (or decline) such a patch? It would be useful to have the opinion of such a guy. ;) Maybe you are? Guillaume
