[opensuse-arm] Raspberry Pi version 2
I imagine everyone is aware that a quad-core, ARMv7 version of the RPi is available. Does anybody know what is involved in using Opensuse on that device? I am hoping that I can use the normal ARMv7 repository for everything but the RPi specific packages. Should I branch those RPi packages and try building them for V7 or is someone already doing that? Thanks. Bill -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

Dirk and me ordered one each, but they didn't arrive yet. Please feel free to kick off any changes you see that make sense to work ourselves towards enabled RPi2 support. I've also enabled the armv7 repo targets in the RPi Factory Contrib. If you see things break there, please osc branch them, fix them and osc submitrequest them back to keep the ball rolling :). Thanks a lot and let's get this RPi version supported faster than the original ;) Alex -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org
Just make sure you don't take a picture of it... at least not one with a flash. ;) ________________________________________ Sean Rickerd Ingénieur Commercial/Sales Engineer SUSE 514.834.5778

Have you been able to bring anything up? I just started with the arm6 image from 13.2 and get just the colorful background screen. I was hoping to use it as a starting point.
Thanks. Bill

I created a microsd card with the armv6l Build36.2 image, put it in an SDcard adapter and it boots perfectly on an armv6 RPi. On the armv7 version I also get the colorful screen. I am working on rebuilding the packages for armv7 (this takes me a long time to figure out) and then will build an image for v7. When I have that I will test it, let you know where it is so you can test it, and then push the fixes upstream.
