[opensuse-arm] raspberry pi 400
Hi, I've tried opensuse tumbleweed and leap and both have problems , tumbleweed doesn't boot (endless loop with some lines that cannot read) and leap got kde log screen but then neither keyboard and mouse don't work. Any suggestions? Thank you __________________________________________________ Firefox's 14th birthday! Choosing Firefox isn't just choosing a browser. It's a vote for personal freedom online. We're still working on getting support for Pi400. In the meantime you can try replacing the u-boot.bin file in your sd card's EFI partition with the one I attached. Regards, Nicolas
Up& running now with the new u-boot , thanks! Have ethernet, plasma Don't have wifi, sound Let's way for further improvements Regards El jue., 26 nov. 2020 9:55, Nicolas Saenz Julienne <nsaenzjulienne@suse.de> escribió:

Wonderful!
Have ethernet, plasma Don't have wifi, sound
Sound is an issue on a normal Raspi4 as well - there was recently a thread about this. Kernel 5.10 may have the required driver....that may work an a pi400 as well (fingers crossed....) Cheers Axel

Yes Wifi it's just missing a firmware file, which will be soon available. If you're interested I can provide some instructions on how to get it in place. As for HDMI sound, it'll be available once v5.10 of Linux is released. Regards, Nicolas

HDMI sound in 5.10 is good news! Cheers, Guillaume

Sure, I'll try that firmware with your instructions. Regarding the sound , hdmi sound means no usb/jack/... sound ? El vie., 27 nov. 2020 10:55, Nicolas Saenz Julienne <nsaenzjulienne@suse.de> escribió:

HDMI sound is supposed to work, Kernel 5.10 should add jack output... Axel

I attached an rpm package which contains the firmware files. It'll hopefully be available in the Tumbleweed repos, and through upgrades in a week or two. You can install it by running: zypper in --oldpackage bcm43xx-firmware-20180314-45.1.noarch.rpm

Well Pi400 has no jack, so that shouldn't be a problem. USB sound should work (as in an external USB sound card). Once Linux v5.10 shows up, if you're using some other means for sound you'll have to configure it the same way you'd do it on an intel machine. Regards, Nicolas
