Testing Leap 15.3 on a Raspi4

Greetings, I wrote a post on the blog of our association yesterday regarding the Beta that came out on the 3rd March. I grabbed the ISO and burnt it to a USB key with Etcher. Could not get it to boot as per https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:AArch64_EFI so went into the process via Raspbian to update eeprom: sudo rpi-eeprom-update -d -f /lib/firmware/raspberrypi/bootloader/latest/pieeprom-2021-02-16.bin OK, update went fine and checked with: vcgencmd bootloader_version Now, it appears that there might be some more steps, I also used RASPI-CONFIG to set boot order with USB as priority instead of SD. Has someone created a RASPI4 image by any chance please? Best wishes, Jimmy

Greetings,
I wrote a post on the blog of our association yesterday regarding the Beta that came out on the 3rd March.
I grabbed the ISO and burnt it to a USB key with Etcher.
Could not get it to boot as per https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:AArch64_EFI so went into the process via Raspbian to update eeprom:
sudo rpi-eeprom-update -d -f /lib/firmware/raspberrypi/bootloader/latest/pieeprom-2021-02-16.bin
OK, update went fine and checked with:
vcgencmd bootloader_version
Now, it appears that there might be some more steps, I also used RASPI-CONFIG to set boot order with USB as priority instead of SD.
I did not try to boot the ISO on Raspberry Pi yet. But that should work since the ISO should be a hybrid ISO, able to boot on Raspberry Pi 3/4.
Has someone created a RASPI4 image by any chance please?

This is likely a mirror issue. You can try this mirror: http://opensuse.mirrors.proxad.net/opensuse/distribution/leap/15.3/appliance... Tested the XFCE and KDE image. @XFCE: expanding the partition ROOT was only partly done. The system started with the original size. Not sure if after a reboot this partition was at the maximum size. @KDE: no login screen like Tumbleweed. Currently nothing for this system on packman. -- fr.gr. member openSUSE Freek de Kruijf

That's https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1182963, a fix is on the way. Cheers, Fabian

Greetings, Not sure if the following is a bug, or it's me! Thanks to Axel who shared his 32GB image with me. Despite several attempts, the burning failed. For Guillaume, thanks for the link, I figured out the mirror issue BTW, the live image would start alright but would not install nor upgrade. So I went for the "migration" path. I grabbed a openSUSE 15.2 image and used the ISO to boot and migrated. It took all night. I just checked, ssh worked and I can ping domains on the Internet and FireFox works well.. Now serious matters : ***************** os152:~ # zypper ref ***************** Warning: The /etc/products.d/baseproduct symlink is dangling or missing! Sorry to hear. I just x-checked with a second SD card, and that one worked as well. To burn the image: xzcat gnuhealth38-Leap15.3-raspi4-20210308.img.xz | dd bs=4M of=/dev/mmcblk0 iflag=fullblock oflag=direct status=progress; sync (resp. check with lsblk where your SD card is) Check the md5 sum. it should be: e0d51c1746e240655268fe0267cb409d gnuhealth38-Leap15.3-raspi4-20210308.img.xz HTH Axel

Greetings, @Axel : I have news for you, I guessed that my stock of 32 GB USB keys are KO. I discovered that there was a new version, so I downloaded the Beta image directly. Installation went fine, and no errors were detected as previously. So, I am quite happy for now. I have not deleted old installation though. Thanking you! Best wishes, Jimmy

I just tested and it worked. Please retry and make sure the URL is not broken up in two. Regards, Matthias
