[opensuse-arm] Raspberry pi 3 non-free firmware
Hi! I just got a raspberry pi 3 and got Tumbleweed running, runs very good, and very easy to install (after I found the right image). However there were no wifi, I had to manually pick it from here: https://github.com/RPi-Distro/firmware-nonfree/ The files: brcmfmac43430-sdio.txt and brcmfmac43430-sdio.bin My question is, is there any RPM source where these drivers are available? I do not think so. Any objection to package it in devel RPi3 project (or maybe in hardware project)? Guillaume -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

Is there a particular reason it's not in the official kernel firmware package? Maybe it's already there and we just need to update that one? Alex

It is not in official firmware GIT repo. Guillaume

Would you be allowed to push it there? That's the "cleanest" solution IMHO. Alex -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

I am not sure. It is probably in a non-free repo for a reason. Maybe it should go to packman to ensure we don't get into trouble. Bo -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

No, firmware is usually fine. Alex -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org
