[opensuse-arm] cubox-i wireless setup
Hi guys, I have tumbleweed running on my cubox-i pro, and the wireless card is working. But I set it up when 13.2 just came up (to give you an idea) and now, on a fresh Tumbleweed or Leap 42.2 I don't remember anymore how I did it. The system doesn't seem to recognize the card. In yast when I add the wireless interface, I'm not able to select a pertaining kernel module, nor I'm able to scan the network. Any hint on how I should proceed? Many thanks. Which kernel module are you missing? Can you check in the config if it is enabled? Regards, Matthias -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org
Hi Matthias, on the working system the following modules are loaded: Module Size Used by brcmfmac 241664 0 brcmutil 20480 1 brcmfmac cfg80211 524288 1 brcmfmac and the following packages installed: pullin-bcm43xx-firmware & b43-fwcutter from openSUSE-Ports-Tumbleweed-repo-oss b43-firmware from packman Today I didn't have time to test, but I'll first double check if I have the same packages installed on the other systems, then I'll let you know if I still have problems. Thanks and regards Alessio 2016-12-12 12:07 GMT+01:00 Matthias Brugger <mbrugger@suse.com>:

Hi, I also tested the cubox-i images for Leap 42.2 and TW. And filled https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1015013 (Leap) and https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1015185 (TW). On Tue, Dec 13, 2016 at 10:54:40AM +0100, Matthias Brugger wrote:

I think that is not needed. Your device should have a BCM4330 or BCM4329 and both are supported by upstream kernel (afaik). The problem I had was, that brcm/brcmfmac4330-sdio.txt was not available (see dmesg). But I can not test it with TW anymore because of bsc#1015185 . https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/448673 should fix it. Most of the times these things are attached to a usb hub. Could you execute a "lsusb" to see whats connected? -- Cheers
