[opensuse-arm] New glibc in Base:System with changed dynamic linker
HI, I'm submitting now a new glibc to Base:System that has the new changed dynamic linker - but still works with binaries using the old one. I'll push this to Factory soonish and wanted to give you 24hours advanced warning. For me everything looked fine, I build using qemu... Richard, could you include in your next gcc47 submission the patch from http://sourceware.org/ml/libc-ports/2012-04/msg00060.html thanks, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger aj@{suse.com,opensuse.org} Twitter/Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn,Jennifer Guild,Felix Imendörffer,HRB16746 (AG Nürnberg) GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Andreas, Silly question - how much have you tested running old binaries and libraries using the changed glibc? Adam's found a problem in Ubuntu where the soname change in ld.so is making some things not run correctly. We have a patch that we're testing to fix that, so I'm curious how you're getting on... Hi Steve, I did a chroot in the system and run ls etc. I used the patch that Ubuntu uses for elf/dl-load - and I suggest we discuss that topic further on the cross-distro mailing list. Or is there a better place to discuss it? OK, you've already found the patch. :-) Yes, we should discuss it on cross-distro. I'll head there now.
