[opensuse-arm] Filesystem crashes with Leap 42.2 on rpi3
Hi all, I set up an rpi 3 with the following image: openSUSE-Leap42.2-ARM-JeOS-raspberrypi3.aarch64-2017.02.02-Build1.3.raw.xz and now it is the second time that the filesystem crashed in a few weeks. When it happend the first time, I changed the SD Card to prevent HW errors. I also have seen that the swap size is only about 500MB and the "resume=" kernel options is set, but i doubt that this is the root cause. Is this a known Issue? Any help appreciated cu Frank PS: I have a full dump the crashed image for debugging purposes if needed.

For those of us without that particular image, could you clarify which filesystem that is: btrfs or ext4? Also please clarify what you mean with "crashed" - if there were kernel errors, please open a Bugzilla and provide the exact serial or dmesg output. Was it not recoverable? No such issues on RPi3 with Tumbleweed and ext4 here. Thanks for fast repsonse

ext4

with crashed I meant * system was no longer accessible via ssh * system was no longer accessible via console * Application (owncloud) was still accessible but errors in logs * After off/on grub complained "error: unknown filesystem" * fsck on EFI partition (mmblk0p1) was ok * fsck on ROOT partition (mmblk0p2) complained about errors fixing (fsck -y ...) resulted in empty filesytem - all files gone to lost and found
errors, please open a Bugzilla and

provide the exact serial or dmesg output.
sorry - no serial console attached and login was not possible
Was it not recoverable?
No, not with fsck - resulted in empty FS

did you ever reboot the rpi after the first boot? did it have power loss in between at any point in time?

before running fsck? can you check if there are any errors in syslog on that filesystem from the time before it halted? Thanks, Dirk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

No, not AFAIK

I cannot mount the fs: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/mmcblk0p2, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so. Seeing this messages in dmesg [89890.221329] EXT4-fs error (device mmcblk0p2): ext4_ext_check_inode:510: inode #8: comm mount: pblk 0 bad header/extent: invalid extent entries - magic f30a, entries 1, max 4(4), depth 0(0) [89890.346932] EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p2): no journal found Thanks for you help, Frank
