[opensuse-arm] Fail with openSUSE JeOS pine 64 image
Hi, I tried today the pine64 JeOS ipage on pine64 board with 2GB RAM Connected on ethernet (with dhcp server) Collected boot output with serial access on EXP port http://paste.opensuse.org/54338867 It seems to be failing with error (and keeps rebooting to same error status) echo -e '[1512344931.067261] Failed to find boot device !' Not sure what I can do from there... options seem limited. Thanks Paul -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org
that was with 'upstream 4.11.4 kernel' image. I also tried ' downstream Allwinner Android kernel which is based on 3.10. ' It booted to a login but then failed with error [ 251.028871] Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address ffffffbf722d8840 On Mon, Dec 4, 2017 at 10:31 AM, Paul Gonin <paul.gonin@gmail.com> wrote:

Can you try: https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/StefanBruens:/branches:/ devel:/ARM:/Factory:/Contrib:/Pine64/images/ And please report the *exact* name and download URL of the image ... Works for me. HDMI output turns black as soon as the kernel takes over though. cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.com/ SUSE Linux GmbH, GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

Paul, Ludwid, thanks for testing. The problem has been fixed in the Contrib repo. The default kernel flavour currently is broken for the Pine64, but sunxi64 already contains a fix from the sunxi kernel tree, expected for the 4.15 release. The 42.3 kernel has to many missing parts to really work on A64. Your best bet is possibly running U-boot 2017.11 + Linux 4.15.x + Leap userland. Kernel version 4.15 will be the first which has OOTB ethernet support on A64. Still missing is anything graphics related - HDMI display controller, 3D engine, Video engine. HDMI might arrive in 4.16.0. http://linux-sunxi.org/Linux_mainlining_effort Kind regards, Stefan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org
