[opensuse-arm] Raspi 3b / Leap 15.1 / reproducible Kernel Panic

Hello, I'm about to set up a Raspi 3b+, and see kernel panics with the image openSUSE-Leap-15.1-ARM-LXQT-raspberrypi3.aarch64-2019.05.17- Snapshot1.62.raw.xz 1) write image to SD card 2) boot into runlevel 3 3) call YaST to change system language -> Panic or 3) zypper up -> freeze at installation of systemd 4) reboot, zypper up -> kernel panic Tried a 2nd, new SD Card in order to exclude the case of a damaged card. Same result Is there a known issue with this image? Cheers Axel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

I am not using the image you cite, but openSUSE-Tumbleweed-ARM-XFCE-raspberrypi3.aarch64-2019.10.25-Snapshot20191109 runs well for me on a model 3 (not 3+). Kernel is 5.3.8-1-default if that helps. Well, not really - for what I need it, TW is not the optimal basis. But thanks for the heads up Cheers Axel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

<snip> I organized a second Raspi, and , surprise, here it worked without any problems. So it seems to be a hardware issue. Sorry for the noise! Any idea how to test the hardware? Had a similar problem with a RPi1B+, which worked fine for quite some time, but started to crash and rebooted several times a day. After replacing the power device, it behaved like before. -- fr.gr. member openSUSE Freek de Kruijf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

In this case I was using the same power device for both... Cheers Axel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

Have you checked "journalctl -f" / dmesg / "/var/log/messages" or similar for warnings about under-voltage? I had this with a 1A PSU, fixed by usiang a 2A one.
