According to the wiki page [2] [3] the opensuse u-boot [4] should be chain loaded. To do that I installed the latest tumbleweed image [5] on a sd card and added the u-boot.bin to the boot partition. The espressbin starts the marvell u-boot (U-Boot 2017.03-armada-17.10.1-gaee49fc (Jan 29 2018 - 18:21:49 +0800)) out of the flash.
