When I plug my USB-Drive into my notebook an run # dmesg I get a lot of messages about a scsi device beeing detected and named [sdb].
When I connect it to my NanoPi, I can't see anything similar. So, what do I have to do or to look for?
Is the HDD powered separately or via the NEO's USB host port? If the latter, then my guess would be that the board isn't able to provide sufficient power for the USB-harddisk. You should be able to confirm this by trying a USB flash drive instead.
