Hi Stefan,
-----Original Message----- From: Stefan Seyfried <stefan.seyfried@googlemail.com> are there, apart from the (hard to get) raspberry pi4, any ARM boards that have 8GB of RAM or more? Bonus points if they are supported out of the box by openSUSE ;-)
It depends how much you want to spent. 😉
Yes, I thought about that, too.
Any max budget?
Seeing that I can still find raspberry pi4 with 8GB for around 160€ right now, so I'd say the reasonable upper limit will be around 250€ for a board with 8GB, gigabit ethernet and native storage (SATA or NVME) on board.
With 8 GB there is not much SBC (Single-board Computer). You start to move to desktop/server things which are more expensive.it
A quick search on ebay only returned some old HP moonshot blades which probably need a blade frame in addition and they were >1000€. Also, power consumption will probably be an issue for those. So I'll get on those "notify when in stock" lists of all the raspberry pi resellers in germany and hope I get one or two rpi4-8GB's once they become available again :-) The raspi400 is doing great as a obsworker, but its memory is too small for some of the packages, so at least one "big box" would be nice.
