Hi, looks like I have a long reaction times to e-mails, sorry about that. George Bratsos - 16:06 15.02.12 wrote:
I in general want to get involved and help here with the arm project !
Also in two months there is a big Greek event where i want to make a presentation about openSUSE-arm.
I did some presentation on FOSDEM about it, so if you want to have it easier by reusing some slides, here you go ;-) https://github.com/miska/my-opensuse-presentations/tree/master/ARM
Where i can get info about involving and is there any sector i can help ? :D
So if i buy this TEGRA 2 tablet i must wait looong time in order to install suse? :S
Regarding ASUS Transformer, getting openSUSE in chroot is easy, well working and I've got it running. I was playing with getting native dualboot but haven't succeeded yet, still trying to get good enough kernel and ramdisk. So far it looked like kexec doesn't work correctly on Transformer/original kernel. There is probably easier way - install Ubuntu and replace it's root with openSUSE one, but as there are some steps involving repartitioning internal memory and therefore loosing all data, I haven't done it yet. And I also want to have my openSUSE on MicroSD and not on the flash. Now it is able to run openSUSE in chroot which is mostly what I need. In future, it will be surely able to run natively openSUSE. Dual boot has to be possible somehow, but is most difficult from the options I think, so it will take more time.

Hello all,
I am planning to buy an ASUS EEE TRANSFORMER TF101-1B141A 16GB. Will i be able to download and install any openSUSE-arm version???
At the moment the honest and quick answer is no. But, there is some work going on to get it to work - Michal is the best person to advise on the progress for that.
One of the reasons is that the Tegra2 SoC is a slight divergence from the rest of the main ARM providers, Tegra3 falls back in line. We are still working on getting all the distribution ported to ARM and have about 20% to go.
I am new to arm so i want some general information about how to install it or what i must learn and watch out!
We will look at getting some good documentation together once we iron out the kinks that we have, hopefully not too long before we do.
Thanks in advance
Thanks for the interest, and just join in on IRC (#opensuse-arm on Freenode) or ask questions here on the mailing list. You may need to wait a short while before someone can answer you but you will get an answer.
Regards,
Andy
